James is a Senior Consultant within the Environmental Policy & Economics team and joined the company in 2023.
James is an environmental economist with over 7 years experience working on projects relating to environmental policy across multiple sectors in the UK, EU and globally, and involving a range of skills including economic models, policy evaluation and assessment, stakeholder engagement and hosting of workshops. James has managed and delivered a range of projects for the European Commission particularly in the area of industrial emissions, including managing the project Impact of the biogas plants and of gasification, liquefaction and pyrolysis of wastes on the environment for DG Environment, and the impact assessment for the Fuel Quality Directive (Technical assessment of transport fuel quality parameters). He also managed the Study supporting EU green investment needs analysis for DG Environment. He has also managed and delivered projects for a range of other clients including the Irish EPA and Natural Resources Wales, and the Asian Development Bank.

Air Quality Consultants provided air quality design advice; completed an air quality assessment; and undertook a greenhouse gas assessment for a mixed-use, residential led development in the London Borough of Newham.
Air Quality Consultants was able to demonstrate that the existing configuration of the plant was acceptable, with no new chimney stack required, saving the client more than £100,000 in up-front costs, as well as avoiding potential local opposition.
Air Quality Consultants is running a large nitrogen dioxide diffusion tube monitoring programme, which covers 500+ sites, across 105 railway stations across the UK, on behalf of the Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB).
Air Quality Consultants collaborated with the Institute of Occupational Medicine to provide evidence to the Greater London Authority.
